The cover of Classic Bike’s March issue is a colourful celebration of Honda’s original Africa Twin, a bike which makes a fine 21st century all-rounder. The magazine features a buyer’s guide, informing readers how to get the best example of this milestone in the development of adventure bikes that lasted from the late 1980s to the early 2000s.
In contrast to this ‘bike for everyman’, there are two tales of very special machines – the first concerns the restoration of an extremely rare Triumph Bonneville T120 Thruxton, originally bought by an owner unaware of its history of 1960s racing glory. The second is the amazing tale of four friends who decided to build their own two-stroke 500cc Grand Prix bikes, creating four incredible Yamaha YZR500 replicas that gained praise from famous racers when taken to the track.
Adding to the eclectic mix, there’s also a road test on a 1931 BSA Model E, and an interview with the man who gave Ducati £200,000 to sign Carl Fogarty. Topping it all off is the recently revamped Workshop section, choc-full of practical tips, long-term projects and insights into how to keep your classic running sweetly.
